Hi!  I'm Emerald Barnes.  I generally write YA fiction, but sometimes I write adult mystery/suspense/thrillers, but I mostly stick to the YA genre.  So if you see me in two places, you'll know why!

I'm a volunteer here at the WLC.  If you participate in our events, you might have seen my name on an email or two!

I'm an auntie first, writer second, although both aspects seem to dominate my life.  :)

It's great to see you here, and I hope we can all sit back and have a nice chat sometime about writing for YAs and MGs because it's tough to get the right mix of everything into your novels for that age level!  So, introduce yourself, leave a comment or two, and feel free to start a new topic!

Benny and the bank Robber, Children's/YA Historical Adventure

My name is Mary C. Findley, and I am new at WoMen's Literary Cafe, but excited for the opportunity to become a part of the reader/writer connection here. I have a series for children and young adults, two written so far, set in 1800. My inspirations range from the Sugar Creek Gang to Tom Sawyer to Encyclopedia Brown, but don't worry, girls are welcome to start reading too, and will find they are represented among Benny's friends and adventures as well!

When his father dies, Benny Richardson's mother says they have to leave Philadelphia for a frontier farm in territorial Missouri. Benny tackles a mystery of the man who saves his life, a savage black stallion, a sharp knife, and ten thousand dollars in gold, missing along with a bank employee who was everybody's friend. God said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you," but can Benny trust Him?

Benny and his best friend Jason find themselves in the middle of a terrifying mystery while attending a private boys' school in Detroit. Gambling, extortion and attempted murder are all in the cards when Benny makes the mistake of trying to impress members of a secret society. Benny finds himself forced into a meeting with someone who may already have killed to enforce his will.

Intro

Hi everyone! I know Mary and have emailed Emerald, but this is my first time to meet Bethany. Great choice for a release date, Bethany! It's my 35th birthday ;).

My name is Sarah Smith, but I write under Precarious Yates because there are so many Sarah Smiths in the world! I write everything YA from coming-of-age to fantasy to a futuristic spy series. The first novel of the spy series, The Elite of the Weak, is the main one I'm promoting at the moment. The others are under the red pen before I re-release them.

I'm a stay-at-home mom living on the Texas plains, half the world away from the rest of my family. I don't have a ton of time, but what time I have I devote to writing and helping other writers.

I'm excited to get to know everyone here!

Hello All...

I'm Ann Swann, author of The Phantom PIlot being featured in this week's new releases. Love seeing it up there at the top of the page.  It's my first book in publication, but the sequel should be out around Halloween.  It's good to see all of you.  Seems like a great group of people here.  I know I've seen most of you on Twitter and on the Facebook pages I've "liked." Thanks for stopping my mine, too!
